Hemp Seeds vs Hemp Protein Powder

Every now and again I forget that I don’t like specific combinations of leafy greens and fruits or other ingredients.

I try to stick to a whole foods regimen in my eating, but I had an opportunity to get a good deal on some hemp protein powder (read: free), so I took it.

And then I made a green smoothie.

And then I remembered I don’t like leafy greens with hemp protein powder.

And it didn’t get better with the other things I blended the powder into.

Hemp seeds remind me of pumpkin seeds, which I like.

Hemp protein powder? Something altogether different.

This particular brand of hemp protein says three tablespoons is a serving. I’ve made a couple of 16 ounce smoothies (two servings) and three tablespoons is way too much. No matter what I blend and how long I blend it for, it never fails to be chalky and just “off”.

When I add only one tablespoon, it’s more palatable.

The lesson of the day boys and girls is: free will sometimes cost you.

In this case, it’s my tastebuds.

But oh well, that’s how I learn.

What have you been blending lately?
