Ingredient notes:
I freeze as much of my ingredients as I can so that I don't have to use ice.
I buy local when in season and frozen when not, but you should do what makes the most sense ecologically and economically when purchasing ingredients.
These recipes will get you anywhere from 16 to 32 ounces, depending on how many cups of liquid or yogurt are used.
Make these recipes your own: They're only going to taste good if you like the ingredients and make them in a ratio that satisfies your palate.
Substitute, add more or less, etc, and then come back and tell me how you made the recipe better for you.

Living Light: Health, Happiness, and Freedom on the Road Less TraveledThings I Have to Tell You
This blog is a place for me to share my love for all things Vitamix. I have opinions on what makes food "real", "healthy", and "good", but that doesn't mean I'm necessarily right (or wrong for that matter).

You need fiber, eat fruits and vegetables. Wait, don’t eat too much fiber, it interferes with absorption. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Hunh?
I’ve been reading and rereading several books on Candida and cleansing lately, mostly because the weather is getting warmer and all people seem to want to do is detox and cleanse (there’s a difference) like it’s a cure-all for poor … Continue reading
Almond Milk Experiments
These past couple of weeks I’ve been experimenting with almond milk – making it myself. I make it in 64oz batches and pour it Mason jars of that size. I find that it’s just the right amount for 3-4 days … Continue reading
Green Juice #2
Now that I’m back in the swing of making green juices (instead of green smoothies), I’m noticing a few things: I’m getting better at making EXACTLY 32 ounces, green juice taste sooo much better cold, and I’m peeing like mad. … Continue reading
Green Juice #1
The other day I went to check out this new Papaya spot in my neighborhood on a tip from a friend. I ordered their “All Green Juice” and it was ALL bad. I will be the first person to admit … Continue reading
