This is a make-ahead smoothie recipe.
1 cup blackberries, rinsed
1 t cinnamon
1 t cloves
1 t nutmeg
1/2 tbs honey or maple syrup
1/2 tbs molasses
1/2 cup water
juice of half a lemon
1 cup yogurt or kefir of your choice
Add water, spices, molasses, and honey or maple syrup to a small pot and simmer for 10 minutes. Let cool for at least 20 minutes, then strain.
Add blackberries, spiced water, lemon juice and yogurt or kefir to container and blend until smooth.
If smoothie is too thin for your liking, add more blackberries or yogurt until desired consistency is reached.
