Mirrors: A Photo Essay About A Home Away From Home

Before I moved to New York, I didn’t think I’d have any real troubles adjusting to the new environment. Sure, maybe it would take me some time to figure out the subway and adjust to the city-paced life, but overall it never seemed too daunting. However, after arriving, I found myself struggling to cope with living in a city and all the changes that came with it. My small suburban hometown (Mundelein, Illinois) had nothing on the towering buildings and bitter natives. I began to look for solace in finding similar places to my hometown and started to compare these two completely different environments, finding much more in common than I had expected.
