This festival season has seen an overall theme of functionality in many of the outfits worn so far, which also relates back to the current street-style trends. Let’s have a look at the top festival fashion trends of 2019!

(1) Snakeskin

Move over DJ Snake, snakeskin is taking over as a festival favorite this season — a print favorite, that is. Influencers like Olivia Culpo and Jourdan Sloane have been seen wearing the bold yet subtle print, and it has been sported by many other festival goers as well this season. Seen on boots, bags, tops and two-piece sets, this versatile print has made its way into the staple style of the 2019 festival season.

(2) Desert-friendly Boots

“These boots are made for walking…” and by the looks of influencers on Instagram (Bretman Rock; Nikita Dragun; Julie Sariñana; Aimee Song — to name a few) and celebrities such as Shay Mitchell, Shanina Shaik and Kaia Gerber, boots have been one of the main footwear favorites this festival season. From variations of cowboy and western styles to combat and lace-up boots, this functional fashion trend looks great and keeps your feet supported enough to trek through mud or dirt at festivals.

(3) Bucket hats

Being one of the most popular accessories of the season, bucket hats have also made an appearance at festivals this year. Another functional fashion accessory, the hat was worn across the board at Coachella, from influencers like Lottie Tomlinson to celebrities like Katy Perry and Gisele Oliveira. This accessory should be sticking throughout the rest of the festival season as it’s a cute way to stay protected from the sun during the day, and it’s an affordable staple.

Coachella may have come and gone, but there’s still several summer festivals to look forward to and get dressed for! With all of the upcoming festivals like Firefly and Bonnaroo, the question remains: will these trends withstand the season? We’ll have to wait and see if these current festival favorites continue to make appearances.
