Here's Why We're Still Not Over Rihanna's FENTY Maison

Rihanna, the reigning Queen of music, makeup and lingerie, recently launched the FENTY luxury line. The line includes ready-to-wear apparel, accessories and shoes.

Partnering with LVMH to create “Fenty Maison,” the line uses both feminine and masculine accents to create a sleek and minimal look, highlighting the importance of breaking the rules in traditional fashion. On LVMH’s website describing the FENTY line, Rihanna is quoted, “Women are forces of this earth. We are multifaceted, complex, vulnerable yet bulletproof, and FENTY speaks to all of our intricacies. Some days I want to be submissive, many days I’m completely in charge and most days I feel like being both….so it was imperative that we created a line versatile enough to embrace and celebrate us in that way.”

FENTY is a transformable line that has the potential to be built upon as it uses the clothing as a base. Most pieces are either dresses or suit sets, so the wearer has one across–the–board color. With the FENTY luxury line, customers are then encouraged to find statement colors in the accessories whether its through wide rimmed statement sunglasses and a pair of sleek, emerald pumps or displayed in a pair of golden roped ear cuffs to add a unique flair to the entire outfit. It is obvious that the FENTY line is about highlighting the uniqueness of the wearer through smaller statement pieces, rather than having the clothes make the wearer unique.

It is a breath of fine, luxury air to see the newest partner of LVMH be a female designer and a CEO of color, who based the concept of minimalistic designs that flatter all shades. Just as she designed her FENTY makeup line, Rihanna has opened the doors even farther in the world of fashion to appeal to all skin types, and celebrate the unique identity each customer holds.

A sleek, classic all-white suit jacket (which also comes with a fanny pack) retails at $1,100.00. An all–white denim corset dress, most recently seen being worn by Bella Hadid, retails at $810.00. Shoes range from $625 - $670.00, and accessories range from $335 to $600.00.

FENTY Maison combines sleek and simple with color and edge, proving that high fashion doesn’t have to be out there to make a statement.  Shop the collection here!
