(1) Rockwell, “Somebody’s Watching Me”

The haunted house inspired theme for the music video is the reason why Rockwell’s hit crept into our selection. It is filled with floating heads, ravens and the infamous shower scene from Psycho. Plus, that high-pitched synth beat is something serious... got an eerie feeling someone is watching you now?

(2) Michael Jackson, “Thriller”

Of course, we have to start by paying homage to one of the greatest songs (and greatest albums) ever made. This song is perfect for the spooky season because of its chilling sound effects such as thunder, howling, lightning and creaking doors. As soon as anyone hears the infamous bassline, we can assure you even the dead will rise and join in on all the action.

(3) Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, “I Put a Spell on You”

No, this isn’t Bette Midler’s rendition of the classic 50’s jam. Put some respect on Mr. Hawkins’ name when this raw, rasping hit finds its way into your shuffle! Maybe this isn’t the song to turn up to, but trust that your grandparents will go crazy (and possibly stupid) when the bouncing trumpets start playing.

(4) Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein, “Stranger Things”

Hopefully if we play this loud enough, Hopper will come back #stillgrieving. Although the song is only one minute long, it is the one to walk into the party. We live for 80’s synthesizers and it is a sure way to get the party started. Assert your dominance, raise your hand to the crowd and tap into queen Eleven’s badass powers.

(5) Beyoncé, “Haunted”

If going to crazy hormone and alcohol infused parties isn’t your thing, we’ve got you and the girls covered. Let’s keep it classy with a simple night at your best friend’s house! This song evokes a certain “bad bitch” alter ego in all of us and is the best way to celebrate the season.

(6) Shakira, “She Wolf”

Adding to our femme-fatale powerhouse, we’re adding in la reina de Colombia and the hit that made any 12-year-old think they were the she-wolf in the closet. The red cave, the golden cage and dance moves?! We can’t do anything but stan this mysteriously iconic song that’ll make any skeleton belly dance their way into a grave.

(7) Kanye West & Kid Cudi (feat. Yasiin Bay), “Kids See Ghosts”

These whirring synths and hand drums make any speakers blast at full volume. “Kids See Ghosts” is a tale of dark awakenings for the dynamic duo who both have opened up about their struggle with losing their parents, addictions and mental health. And of course, who can’t resist Cudi’s splendid hums. Legends say if you hum along, you too, will see ghosts.

(8) Trippie Redd (feat. Travis Scott), “Dark Knight Dummo”

This song is promised to bring the house down and form the world’s largest mosh pit of the dead and living. The music video features Redd and Scott getting rid of unfriendly masked killers; it is a definite hint at being a haunting song to play at your parties this year.

(9) Rihanna, “Disturbia”

Don’t worry, this gem was not going to be left out of the fun. It’s no wonder our parents weren’t too happy with us watching the music video. With a circus-themed torture chamber and a group of head-spinning servants bowing to Rihanna, it surely is the song to play for any Halloween event. The upbeat tempo and dark musical tone make way for a perfect dance number.

(10) Tyler, The Creator, “Yonkers”

Remember when Tyler ate a cockroach in this music video? Yeah, we’re still trying to recover too. Nonetheless, this song proves to be a cult classic in our books. The way Tyler delivers his controversial bars over the twisted, almost haunted beat gives us the heevy-jeevies every time. “Yonkers” creates a thrilling feeling of uneasiness, which is why it has made its way to this playlist.

How about that party now? We hope you enjoy our list of songs to summon all witches, ghouls and zombies this Halloween! What are some of your favorites we missed?
